Competition 2017-01: Human Resources Director
The Position: The Director of Human Resources is accountable for the design, implementation and maintenance of comprehensive Human Resources Strategies that align with the strategic direction of the Natoagenag First Nation.
He/she serves as both an advocate for employees as well as strong support for management and has broad accountabilities for Human Resources.
This position manages the planning, recruitment, selection, development, assessment and coordination of human resources in order to effectively meet the current and future needs of the Nation.
The Director of Human Resources also serves as the Chief Information Officer responsible for the maintenance and security of the Natoagenag’s Employee Personnel Files and is the Registered Pension Plan and Group Insurance Plan Administrator.
The Person: A graduate from university with a related degree such as human resources management or business administration with a focus in human resources and considerable directly related experience. A solid understanding of Mi’kmaq culture, values and socioeconomic conditions is an asset for this position. An equivalent combination of experience and formal training that includes a minimum of certificate in Human Resources Management may also be considered for this position.
