The Natoaganeg Community Food Centre is a welcoming space to gather, cook, learn, grow, and share in both good food and community. We strive to offer programs that are dignified, pleasurable, and healthy in a casual and community centre way. Our programs include our good food bank, community farms, drop-in meals, cooking workshops, youth programming and cultural programs. All of our programs are in line with our Good Food Rules and our Good Food Principles. We work in strong partnership with Community Food Centre Canada and are very proud to be the only partnered First Nation Community Food Centre in Canada.


The Natoaganeg Community Food Centre feels that the next generation has the power grow our own local food sources and become food soverign.


The Youth and Farming Coordinator should be someone who enjoys working with youth, has a passion for farming and is an organized self-manager.


Job Description: The Youth and Farming Coordinator is responsible for the delivery of all youth and agriculture programs run by the Natoaganeg Community Food Centre. All programs are executed with respect to the Good Food Rules and the Good Food Principles set out by Community Food Centre Canada. The position will also be responsible to support program administration as well represent the Natoaganeg Community Food Centre in a professional and passionate way to community members, Chief and Council, potential donors or supporters, and guests to the food centre. The ideal candidate should have a minimum 1-3 years experience working with youth, 1-3 years experience managing projects and staff, a passion for local food, an understanding of Mi’kmaq community and culture, and a valid driver’s license.
